time for... HOMESITE RECIPE EXCHANGE (where one can “exchange a recipe of meaning to evoke a sense memory of a dish” )

In anticipation of HOMESITE’s 20th anniversary and the inclusion of the historical artwork in the
“Actions, Conversations, and Intersections” exhibition, at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery
at Barnsdall in January 2010, two new public participatory projects expand the art installation.
You are invited to participate and have your barters, trades, exchanges "become a part of art"
HOMESITE CLOTHING EXCHANGE has already been initiated and further events will be posted here.

LACMA TWITTERED HOMESITE CLOTHING EXCHANGE II at MODAC during the DTLA Artwalk (November 12)

LACMA TWITTERED
HOMESITE CLOTHING EXCHANGE II at MODAC
(during the DTLA Artwalk November 12)

{quote from LACMA site:
. Have something warm to donate this season? Add to the HOMESITE Clothing exchange event this Thu. @downtownartwalk http://bit.ly/2N7Ptt -- }

And that is exactly what happened on November 12, 2009 while HOMESITE CLOTHING EXCHANGE II was an official Happening ( a non-commercial art event) during the Downtown Los Angeles Artwalk. The first participant to enter the Homesite Clothing Exchange II space on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles, ( hosted by the MODAC Museum of Fashion Designers and Creators ), had just married and relocated from San Francisco. Wife was not fond of his warm trusty blue jacket. But she did like the Bob Marley T shirt left on our rack from HOMESITE CLOTHING EXCHANGE I (which made its debut at the at the Brewery Fall Artwalk). Our last group found one generous soul who traded twenty (20!) garments for 3. She ( and her mother) no longer wanted the multitude of clothing but wanted to “Be a Part of Art”. All exchanges made are documented and will now be part of the HOMESITE participatory artwork by Joyce Dallal and Lauren M. Kasmer. BECOME A FAN to participate in the next Homesite Clothing Exchange and view our other blogger site ( Homesiterecipe.blogspot.com) to submit a story and recipe for the HOMESITE RECIPE EXCHANGE.

Artists invite the public to continue their participation in their art project HOMESITE

One night only at the MODAC museum, join us for a “HAPPENING”,
a non-commercial art event,
in the heart of the Fashion District,
in conjunction with the DOWNTOWN LA ARTWALK.

Artists Joyce Dallal and Lauren M. Kasmer invite you to barter at their HOMESITE CLOTHING EXCHANGE. Bring a wearable you are willing to exchange. Write it’s story. Select and trade it for another item contributed by other participants or local businesses such as MODAC (host location) and American Apparel. This exchange will be documented and archived as part of the HOMESite art installation which began in 1990. See the entire art piece at the exhibition “Actions, Conversations, and Intersections”, January 2010 at the Los Angeles Municipal At Gallery at Barnsdall.
